Slurry Sealing is an ongoing street maintenance project planned for several streets citywide wherein a thin layer of asphalt and other materials are spread over a street to protect and increase the life of a roadway. Its use is part of the overall pavement maintenance program for the City of Rialto. The streets to be slurry sealed have been identified in the following
map.
The City of Rialto would like to remind the community of ordinances which may be of interest to you:
Yard Sales
Garage/yard sales are allowed only on the first weekend of the months of March, June, September, and December each year. These dates coincide with the City’s quarterly free dump days. By coordinating garage sale dates with the free dump days, illegal dumping should be reduced. Any unwanted items not sold at the garage sale can be immediately disposed of through the City’s Free Dump Day Program. If you have questions, please call Business License at 909.820.2517.
Noise Control
The new ordinance implements the “plainly audible” noise standard and does not require sophisticated sound equipment or witnesses. This ordinance allows the Police Department to respond to obvious complaints, such as barking dogs, loud music/parties, gardening equipment, etc., which will allow the City to reduce noise impacts on all of its residents. If you have questions or to make a complaint, please call the Police Department at 909.820.2550.
Green Lawns and Parkways
The City of Rialto requires its citizens to properly maintain yard and/or parkway areas that are visible from the public way. Areas that are visible to the public, including curb or sidewalk adjacent parkways, are not permitted to have bare soil. It is permissible to have decorative rock, bark, and/or other vegetation to cover any bare areas in the yard and/or parkways. All vegetation must be kept neat and trimmed, and any decorative materials are required to be free of weeds. If you have questions, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 909.820.2636.
