Yard Sales
Garage/yard sales are allowed only on the first weekend of the months of March, June, September, and December each year. If you have questions, please call Business License at 909.820.2517.
Noise Control
The new ordinance implements the “plainly audible” noise standard and does not require sophisticated sound equipment or witnesses. This ordinance allows the Police Department to respond to obvious complaints, such as barking dogs, loud music/parties, gardening equipment, etc., which will allow the City to reduce noise impacts on all of its residents. If you have questions or to make a complaint, please call the Police Department at 909.820.2550.
Green Lawns and Parkways
The City of Rialto requires its citizens to properly maintain yard and/or parkway areas that are visible from the public way. Areas that are visible to the public, including curb or sidewalk adjacent parkways, are not permitted to have bare soil. It is permissible to have decorative rock, bark, and/or other vegetation to cover any bare areas in the yard and/or parkways. All vegetation must be kept neat and trimmed, and any decorative materials are required to be free of weeds. If you have questions, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 909.820.2636.
JUDGE AGREES TO CITY, COUNTY LAWSUIT REQUEST
A U.S. Distict Court Judge has agreed to a request by the Cities of Rialto and Colton, the County, and other parties to dismiss without prejudice legal actions regarding groundwater contamination in the Rialto-Colton Basin. The order, signed June 13, will help facilitate settlement discussions between the various parties, officials said.
