The Redevelopment Agency of the City of Rialto was created in 1979 as a tool to help the City eliminate blighting conditions and stimulate economic development within the community. The Redevelopment Agency is Rialto's primary vehicle for attracting new business, encouraging new development and ensuring the long-term vitality of the community. The Agency may undertake a variety of activities, programs and projects to improve the community, such as assembling property, constructing public facilities, and assisting private rehabilitation efforts. The Agency is also responsible for preserving, increasing and improving the supply of affordable housing in the community.

Current Redevelopment Projects:

The Agency recently completed several important land use planning and economic development studies including an Economic Development Opportunities Analysis for the City of Rialto, a Rialto Airport Asset Strategy,  and the 2004-2009 Redevelopment Implementation Plan for the newly Merged Redevelopment Project Area.  The Agency is currently preparing a new Specific Plan for Foothill Bouilevard that will establish new zoning, land uses and development standards for properties located along Foothill Boulevard .  The Agency has also submitted a a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) for the Delhi Sands Flower Loving Fly to the US Fish & Wildlife Service to facilitate development in area affected by this endangered species.
